The creation of this institute was inspired by the work and commitment of Daniel P. Elby to the field of alternative education. Mr Elby is a State System of Higher Education Board of Governor's member and CEO of Alternative Rehabilitation Communities, Inc. For years, he has encouraged many of us in higher education to provide the best education possible to the professionals who have committed their lives to working with our most challenging students. He knows just how good those students will be with the right intervention.
